Osteopathic treatment uses a range of soft-tissue and manipulative techniques applied to the muscles, ligaments and joints.
The selection of techniques depends on what is felt to be most appropriate and this will be discussed with you. Treatment is non-invasive, usually gentle and generally painless.
Treatment aims to restore mobility, improve or restore function in restricted joints and the surrounding soft-tissues, and to reduce muscle spasm.
Part of the osteopathic approach is effective management of the problem.
Advice may therefore be given regarding posture, sleeping position, type of bed/pillow. and daily routines etc. When dealing with disc related back problems, managing these issues are of great importance.
